PLOCAN deploys a high-tech coastal camera system in the northeast of Gran Canaria as part of the new AI SOLUTIONS BLUE ECONOMY LAB.

The two companies QUALITAS INSTRUMENTS and QAISC have presented to PLOCAN scientific and technical staff the high-technology Hikvision coastal camera system which is applied to the observation and surveillance of the PLOCAN test site, the outer harbor of the Port of Las Palmas waters, the fishery and leisure Port of Taliarte and also the liquid bulk cargo terminal of Salinetas Port. The new network will be at the same time an essential element of the new AI SOLUTIONS BLUE ECONOMY LAB which PLOCAN, QAISC and CTIM of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria have started and which aims at developing and delivering in the near future a disrupting portfolio of AI solutions for the maritime safety & security, marine renewable energy, autonomous navigation and aquaculture sector. The coastal camera system is also part of the proposal that PLOCAN and QAISC have presented jointly to PORTS 4.0 which is the corporate open innovation model adopted by the Spanish State Port Authorities to attract, support and facilitate the application of talent and entrepreneurship to the Spanish public and private ports sector, within the context of 4th industrial revolution.
